Goal:
Driven by the similarity of our research topics from the previous semester focused on mental health, my capstone partner and I collaboratively chose to undertake our capstone project together. In our culminating endeavor, we delved into the nexus of business and design, employing a team-based approach to synthesize our prior research findings. Our ultimate objective was to craft a prototypical business model that seamlessly integrated the insights we uncovered.
Thinking Process:
1.) Define area for intervention.
2.) Map research and data.
3.) Challenge the obvious with real life observations.
4.) Place qualitative insights on quantitative information.
5.) Engage diverse perspectives to clash on key insights.
6.) Brainstorm project opportunities in all extremities.
7.) Blur them to one high-level concept.
Area for Intervention
A community that enables meaningful connections.
Data Mapping
Our research showed that these are the main components that will help a connection to develop into something meaningful. A connection that is driven by purpose is the foundation.
Minimum Viable Product
As we prepared to brainstorm business ideas, we knew that it must have the following components in order to achieve our mission.
Competitive Analysis
Our area of opportunity is one that connects Gen Z online but is designed for them to have experiences offline.
Results
We created a prototyped app/business model which is designed as a space that offers Gen Z’ers curated offline group experiences, inspired by their interests and issues they care about in order to enable human interactions in a safe, diverse and inclusive space.
